Film Submission Guidelines
Welcome to the 2026 The Weindorfer Short Film Festival submission portal – review the following guidelines before you proceed.
- Name: “The Weindorfer Short Film Festival”
- Content of the film: Show a connection to the Weindorfer story or legacy, Cradle Mountain, the Tasmanian Natural environment and/or, show how one or two people can make a positive difference to the world
- Length: not exceeding 7 minutes (Preferably between 2 and 5 minutes plus titles and credits)
- Authenticate: Prove that you are the film maker and you are eligible for the age category
- Entries are now open and close: To be announced
- Only Australian Residents may enter (includes Australian residents overseas).
- Entry categories: Under 19 or Open category.
- Two film entries per person (or group) will be accepted.
- Films must be submitted in English or with English subtitles.
- Films must be original and produced after the announcement of the competition.
- Films must be submitted 16:9 as MP4 and not exceeding 2GB.
- You give us the right to screen your film in front of a live audience and broadcast online.
If your film is a finalist, be prepared to submit visuals of your film, and Production stills made during your filming.

The Weindorfer Short Film Festival 2026 Submission via Film Freeway - Entries are now open
Before submit your film, you’ll need:
- To review the full Terms & Conditions before proceeding
- To use a laptop/desktop to submit your film for optimal user experience
To Submit your Film, you’ll need:
- Film synopsis and an explanation of how the film shows a connection to the Weindorfer story or legacy, and/or, shows how 1 or 2 people can make a positive difference to the world.
- Your short film should be 16:9 as MP4 and not exceeding 2GB.
How to submit your film:
- Visit filmfreeway.com create an account and login.
- Go to ‘My Projects’ and click ‘Add Project’.
- Fill out necessary info and fields and upload your film.
- After completing your project, go to this link: https://filmfreeway.com/WeindorferShortFilmFestival and click ‘Submit Now’.
- Select your ‘Project’ and ‘Category’, then click ‘Add to Cart and Check Out’.
- Click ‘Complete’ to submit your entry.
- After submitting, a confirmation page and email will indicate your submission has been received.
