The Weindorfer Short Film Festival 2025
At the Weindorfer Short Film Festival, we are dedicated to showcasing films that explore the Tasmanian Natural Environment, Cradle Mountain World Heritage Area or the profound influence of Gustav and Kate Weindorfer or how one or two people can change the world.
Through the medium of short films, we aim to capture and convey their lasting impact.
Whether you’re an established professional or an emerging filmmaker waiting to be discovered, the Weindorfer Short Film Festival provides a platform for self-expression through a 5-minute film. Entries are accepted in the Under 19 and Open categories.
We welcome films of any genre, as long as they adhere to the approximately 5-minute duration and creatively incorporate a connection to the Weindorfer story or legacy, Cradle Mountain, The Tasmanian Natural environment or, show how one or two people can make a positive difference to the world.
This is your opportunity to craft a story that inspires, entertains, and captivates audiences – a reminder that even the smallest film can leave a significant impact!
Finalists will receive recognition, mentorship, and the chance to have their film featured at the Weindorfer Memorial Day. Film submissions must be received by Sunday, 20 th of April 2025, and the premiere launch event is scheduled for Saturday, 3rd of May 2026 at Weindorfer Day at Wilmot.
